Saturday!
It's a beautiful day here today - my Rose of Sharon is looking particularly lovely today:(I would have moved in for a close-up, but the grass is really wet this morning.)
This week the new spinning club met again, and a good time seemed to be had by all - I know I really enjoyed it. While there, I spun the second bobbin of the green stuff (I didn't get much spinning done Monday... or Tuesday... or Wednesday....). Two down, one to go:
I spent Wednesday adding some decoration to the Pedal Pusher - I think I like it. These are rub-on transfers, and seem to stick really well (it probably helped that the PP baked in my car all day Thursday before the club meeting). I'll probably add just a few more small ones:
I also added a tiny bit of bling - it looks neater in person but I think I need a little bit more, especially on the wheel (I looove sparkly things):
:
I'm planning on painting the Production wheel, but I'm going to experiment on some scrap PVC first.
I'll be starting the third bobbin today - it's natural-disaster day on the SciFi Channel (YAY!) so I'll be glued to the tube for most of this lovely day (though I'll be doing some crafting on the deck).
I'm starting with this today:
and am going to finish this and get it off the Harp today. If everything goes well, I'll be able to sew the hems tomorrow. Then I'll need to start the planning for the next batch of dishcloths on the Flip and towels on the Harp. And start thinking of the next projects for them.
I've been thinking of transfering the scarf project on the Mattel loom onto the Flip - maybe I'd be more enthused about doing it on a better-designed loom - plus I'm thinking of making it more of a balanced weave than weft-faced. That would make it the fourth or fifth time I'd restarted that project, but if I do it on the Flip I might actually finish it before it gets cold here. I probably ought to see how much warp I have left first - if it's almost done, I should probably just finish it on the Mattel.
I'd better get started!

Oh!! You have both Flip and a Harp! I've been trying to decide between the two - right now I have a Mirrix Big Sister tapestry loom, three weavettes of different sizes, a 12" triangle loom, and the Tiny Weaver (3.5") loom set from Hazel Rose (a square and a triangle), but not a larger loom, and I want one I can do a long piece of a balanced weave on. I travel a lot, and so am going to get a rigid heddle loom, and have it narrowed down to either the Harp or Flip - I've been leaning towards Flip - do you have any suggestions?

It is going to be more personal preference - both are good looms, and will do the same length warp, IIRC. Personally I prefer the Harp. It's prettier, less expensive, and has knobs on both sides (the Flip only has them on one side). Also it has the warping board 'built-in'. But, it won't fold as flat as the Flip, and you might pinch your fingers folding the Harp.
The multi-heddle 'advantage' of the Flip - really isn't. Basically it has extra slots already in the sides of the loom, so you don't have to buy heddle blocks. Being an occasional woodworker, that's not a selling point for me.
I did a detailed comparison of the two in May if you would like to look in the archives. I'm sure you'll enjoy whichever one you choose! (And I really recommend buying or building a stand, regardless of the size you buy - it makes it much more convenient!)
